Hardware & Embedded Systems

Built through hands-on work at PSEG and through Atreides, where hardware and data come together.

Embedded Systems Design. At PSEG, Aaditya worked within industrial electrical infrastructure, gaining exposure to the constraints and reliability demands of real-world systems. Through Atreides, he has researched and planned embedded systems for telemetry and predictive maintenance on maritime equipment, evaluating tradeoffs in sensor integration, microcontroller selection, and firmware architecture. This combination of field context and design planning helps him think beyond lab setups to robust, operable systems.

Sensor Integration & Telemetry. Atreides is built around capturing real-time operational data from machinery, so Aaditya has explored how to connect sensors to meaningful insights. He has researched sensor types, data acquisition pipelines, and MQTT-based communication protocols to support condition monitoring and predictive alerts. His work considers not just raw data collection, but how sampling rates, noise, and reliability affect the quality of downstream analytics.

Electrical Systems. His experience at PSEG gave him exposure to large-scale electrical infrastructure, utility grid operations, and safety protocols in a professional engineering environment. Working alongside experienced engineers, he learned how theoretical concepts map onto high-voltage equipment, protection schemes, and maintenance workflows. This perspective helps him design embedded and sensing systems that respect the realities of power distribution and industrial safety.

Circuit Design & Prototyping. Through ECE coursework at Rutgers, Aaditya has worked with circuit design principles, simulation tools, and hands-on prototyping for embedded hardware projects. He has practiced moving from schematic to breadboard to more refined prototypes, debugging behavior with measurement tools and iterating on component choices. These experiences give him a practical foundation for translating ideas into testable circuits and hardware proofs of concept.

Software Development

Applied across Lantern, Atreides, and academic projects at Rutgers.

React Native & Mobile Development. Lantern is a full mobile safety app built with React Native, Expo, and TypeScript, where Aaditya helped turn a concept into a functioning product. He led product planning and interface design, then implemented core features including live location sharing, safety markers, Guardian Mode, and emergency resource mapping. Working end to end on Lantern has given him practical experience balancing user experience, performance, and implementation constraints on mobile devices.

Python & Scripting. Python has been a constant tool throughout Aaditya’s quantum computing research at Rutgers, where he built simulations using Qiskit to test quantum strategies. He has also applied Python to data processing and backend scripting for Atreides’s telemetry pipeline, turning raw sensor streams into structured, analyzable datasets. This mix of research and engineering work has strengthened his ability to write clear, reusable scripts that support complex workflows.

Cloud & Backend Infrastructure. On Lantern, Aaditya worked with Firebase for authentication and real-time data, learning how to structure collections, rules, and security around user behavior. At Atreides, he has planned an architecture based on AWS IoT for telemetry ingestion and storage, mapping how edge devices, message brokers, and cloud services interconnect. These experiences have helped him understand how to design scalable, cloud-connected systems that remain maintainable as they grow.

TypeScript & JavaScript. TypeScript and JavaScript run through Lantern’s entire codebase, giving Aaditya daily practice with typed development in a modern framework. He is comfortable structuring component-based architectures, managing state, and using type systems to catch bugs earlier in the development process. This has improved both the reliability of his code and his ability to collaborate confidently in larger projects.

Version Control & Collaboration. Aaditya uses Git and GitHub to manage codebases, track changes, and collaborate across development teams. On projects like Lantern and Atreides, he has worked with branches, pull requests, and code reviews to keep work organized and transparent. This experience has taught him how to integrate version control into day-to-day workflows rather than treating it as an afterthought.

Quantum Computing & Research

Explored through independent academic research at Rutgers, presented as a formal research poster.

Qiskit & Quantum Circuits. Aaditya used IBM’s Qiskit framework to build and simulate quantum circuits, including implementations of the CHSH inequality test and the Quantum Magic Square Game. Through these projects, he gained a working understanding of gate operations, entanglement, and measurement in quantum systems, moving beyond theory into executable experiments. Running and refining these simulations helped him see how abstract quantum concepts behave under practical constraints.

Research & Analysis. In his quantum work, he designed simulation experiments, tuned parameters, and interpreted statistical outputs to compare quantum and classical strategies. He documented each step carefully, from hypotheses and methods to results and limitations, mirroring the expectations of formal research. This process strengthened his ability to reason from data, question assumptions, and refine ideas based on evidence.

Scientific Communication. Aaditya presented his quantum research through a formal Rutgers research poster, distilling complex concepts into accessible explanations. He organized visualizations, equations, and narrative sections so that both experts and newcomers could follow his work. Presenting live required him to adjust the level of detail on the fly, answering questions and clarifying methods in real time.

Python for Scientific Computing. Throughout the research process, he used Python to run simulations, manage data, and visualize results. He wrote scripts to generate repeated trials, aggregate outcomes, and produce plots that highlighted key patterns in the data. This experience reinforced how programming, mathematics, and communication come together in modern scientific work.

Professional & Leadership Skills

Developed through PSEG, Atreides, NSF I-Corps, and student leadership at Rutgers.

Customer Discovery & Market Research. Through NSF I-Corps, Aaditya conducted structured customer discovery interviews to validate Atreides’s market fit in maritime and industrial sectors. He prepared question frameworks, captured notes, and synthesized patterns across conversations to identify pain points and priorities. These findings directly informed product decisions around features, pricing, and go-to-market focus.

Technical Communication. At PSEG and through Atreides, Aaditya has communicated technical concepts clearly across teams with varying levels of expertise. He has written research documentation, product specifications, and pitch materials that translate engineering details into implications for safety, reliability, and business value. This skill has helped him align stakeholders and keep projects moving smoothly.

Entrepreneurship & Venture Building. As co-founder of Atreides, Aaditya has moved from idea to structured company by combining technical exploration with business validation. He has worked on product ideation, customer validation, and technical planning while navigating questions around business models and partnerships. This experience has given him a realistic view of what it takes to build technology that can survive in the market, not just in a lab.

Team Collaboration. Aaditya has collaborated with engineering teams at PSEG and development partners on Lantern, learning how to coordinate work across disciplines and schedules. He is comfortable participating in discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, contributing ideas while listening for constraints and risks. These experiences have reinforced the importance of clear expectations, regular updates, and shared ownership.

Project Management. Managing timelines, milestones, and deliverables across Lantern development, Atreides research sprints, and academic projects has taught Aaditya how to prioritize and plan. He tracks tasks, breaks down larger goals into actionable steps, and adjusts when new information or constraints appear. This approach helps him keep complex, overlapping commitments organized and moving forward.
